Come to Morocco

Morocco is near Europe: 14 kilometres from Spain by Gibraltar straits. You can come to Morocco with lot of different way.

Plane

Morocco has 14 international airports: Agadir, Al Hoceima, Casablanca, Dakhla, Essaouira, Fes, Laäyoune, Marrakech, Nador, Ouarzazate, Oujda, Rabat-Salé, Tanger and Tétouan. Royal Air Maroc and all well-known international and low cost airplane companies have frequently flights from all cities in Europe, America and Middle East. For exemple: Casablanca is 1 hour from Madrid, 3 hours from Paris and 6h30 from New-York.

Car, train & boat

You can drive to Morocco to Algésiras in Spain. Car, motorcycle, bus and train can bring you. And you cross Gilbraltar straits with Car ferry to Tanger (2h30) or Ceuta (1h30). You can also sail from Sète in France to Tanger (36 hours) or from Almeria to Nador or Melilla. For car, there is no special formality. But it is banned to sell, rent your car. Insurance is required.


Formalities

Do not forget your passport and check its validity. If you have organised your travel through a travelling agency, an ID is enough for the group of more than 3 peoples. A few nationalities need a visa. To get further information please contact Moroccan embassy.
If your pet is with you, you need to have his certificate dated less than 10 days and his antirabic certificate dated less than 6 month.

You can bring to Morocco you personal things for a temporally period and in quantity for a tourism activity. For example: two tennis racket, two skiing ski, tent with tracking material, handy cam, camera, etc… In doubt, please contact Moroccan embassy.
There are rules on:

• Alcohol: (1 bottle of wine & 1 bottle of alcohol or 3 bottle of wine per adult) and tobacco (200 cigarettes or 50 cigars or 250 g of tobacco per adult).

• Hunting munitions and arms.

• The professional camera (but no problem for your personal pictures).

• It is banned to import or export dirham.
